Here is a short list of some interesting facts about the popular little bear known as Winnie The Pooh!
Christopher Robin Was Real
Christopher Robin Milne was the son of A.A.Milne and he was the basis for the character. Christopher’s toys also lent their names to most of the other characters (excluding Owl and Rabbit). However he hasn’t always been happy about his role in Pooh books, Christopher said in an autobiography:
“It seemed to me almost that my father had got where he was by climbing on my infant shoulders, that he had filched from me my good name and left me nothing but empty fame”.

Edward Bear
Although commonly referred to as Pooh bear he was also referred to as Edward bear.
Poems
As well as the 2 books (Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner)Milne also wrote several poems about Pooh in the children’s poetry books When We Were Very Youngand Now We are Six.
Teddies Name
The bears original name is “Winnipeg”, shortened it becomes “Winnie”.
Setting
Ashdown Forest in West Sussex, England is Milne’s home and also the setting of the Pooh books. The new book Return To The Hundred Acre Wood released in 2009 keeps the setting.
Poohs Shirt
Pooh first appeared in colour in 1933 in his familiar red shirt.
